Triton is EMV Ready!

November 2012

Long Beach, MS – Triton is proud to announce the availability of v3.2 EMV certified software for the US.

With the launch of v3.2 software, Triton has positioned itself to be the front-runner in the migration of EMV in the U.S. With EMV equipped ATMs currently installed in Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and South Africa, Triton has the knowledge and expertise to help customers overcome the hurdles related to pending EMV requirements in the U.S. “We’ve learned what to expect over the years with the numerous country migrations we have facilitated. We want our customers to feel they can lean on us for support,” says Shaun King, VP of International Sales.

The v3.2 software is identical to v3.1 with the exception of adding EMV support and is specific to Triton’s X2 ATMs, which includes the entire RL/FT/RT series as well as Traverse™. EMV software for Triton’s XScale and 9XXX ATMs will be released in the coming months.

Triton plans to release v3.2 on production ATMs by mid November 2012; however, EMV compliant card readers will not be available until mid December 2012. If a new unit is ordered with the optional EMV card reader, Triton will activate EMV before the unit ships. If an EMV card reader is added to the product later, the customer will be required to active EMV from the field. Even with the EMV card reader installed and EMV software activated, the ATM will continue to support magnetic stripe cards and otherwise function exactly as Triton ATMs installed in the field currently do with v3.1. Once the customer’s host processor has certified EMV software and is ready to support EMV transactions, EMV can be enabled at the Triton ATM. ... Read More

Triton® Traverse™ New Dispenser Option

April 2012

Long Beach, MS – HCDU High–Speed Cash Dispensing Unit

Triton Systems of Delaware, LLC announces a new dispenser option for our latest ATM product, the Traverse. Since its release in January 2011, Traverse has been shipped with a SCDU – Single Cash Dispenser Unit with a 1,000 note capacity and that will remain the standard. However, for businesses with ATMs in high– traffic areas, the new HCDU– High–-Speed Cash Dispensing Unit delivers not only higher speed dispensing, but also dual cassettes that hold 1,700 notes each.

This flexibility minimizes the number of cash loads needed to keep units functioning at capacity, as well as supporting two denominations, a convenience for end–-users. The speed difference of 4.4 notes/second compared to 3 notes/second results in faster transactions, an important feature for higher volume locations.

The sleek Triton Traverse, expressly designed for the retail market, is an extremely affordable entry – level ATM that finally merges the best of both worlds: the quality of the trusted Triton name, with a price point aimed at competing with low cost alternatives... Read More

Are gift cards the Next Big Thing for ATMs?

January 2012

Long Beach, MS – In 2011, consumers loaded about $460 billion onto prepaid cards. According to research from the Mercator Advisory Group this figure will balloon 50 percent over the next two years, reaching $685 billion by 2014. Prepaid cards have come a long way since Blockbuster and K-Mart introduced the first non-phone cards in the mid-90s.

Currently when consumers think of making a gift card purchase, they imagine a supermarket or drugstore spinner rack (also known as a "card mall"). But one company intends to change the picture in consumers' minds, persuading them instead to think of their neighborhood ATM.

According to Better ATM Services president and CEO Todd Nuttall, there couldn't be a more natural combination than ATMs and prepaid cards.  .. . Read More

Triton and Better ATM Services announced an agreement
Provide prepaid card-dispensing technology

December 2011

Long Beach, MS – For Immediate Release:

Better ATM Services and Triton, a Long Beach, Miss.-based ATM manufacturer, recently announced an agreement in which the Mesa, Ariz.-based provider of prepaid card-dispensing technology for ATMs will enable new and existing Triton machines to dispense an array of prepaid products. In addition to withdrawing cash, ATM customers "will walk up and get their open- or closed-loop gift cards, transit passes, event passes—any type of prepaid [product] that can be put on a card will function because of the way the machine is enabled," Todd Nuttall, CEO, Better ATM Services, tells Paybefore.

Nuttall describes Better ATM Services as providing "an integrating technology" to ATM manufacturers enabling the ATM operator to provide prepaid cards in a self-service environment. The technology can be built into new ATMs from most major manufacturers, but units already in service can be converted with a small hardware update and software updates, he says

While preparing the machines to spit out plastic is relatively simple, Nuttall explains that getting the plastic itself right presented the greatest challenge initially, especially when it came to the open-loop side.  .. . Read More

Triton Sales Up 70% Domestically, 50% Worldwide
Boost attributed in part to ADA and EMV compliance

November 2011

Long Beach, MS – For Immediate Release:

Triton announced today that year to date sales figures reflects sharp increases, as compared to 2010. Following the third quarter, worldwide sales are over 50% higher than at this time last year, with domestic sales up over 70%.

CEO Daryl Cornell stated "We are pleased to report another quarter of strong sales growth. While much of the growth we are experiencing this year can be contributed to regulatory compliance mandates such as EMV in Canada and ADA in the U.S., we are also seeing incremental sales as a result of customers’ desire to work with an American company with strong software, customer service and support structures in place."

"As customers are faced with looming compliance mandates, they are looking for a partner who can help them navigate the regulatory quagmire and provide them with multiple options.  Triton’s ability to provide multi-branded upgrade kits, trade in opportunities on older equipment, and quality low-cost refurbished equipment, in addition to new ATMs, provides the flexibility that many of our customers want and need." added James Phillips, Vice President, Sales and Marketing. .. . TDLGATEWAY WIRELESS MODEM
Triton's Own Proprietary Wireless Solution

October 2011

Long Beach, MS – For Immediate Release:

Today, Triton announces the availability of the TDL Gateway wireless modem.Designed specificallyforTriton ATMs that operate on MS Windows CE over TCP/IP, a seamless integration with maximum encryption security and the fastest transaction speed possible isguaranteed.

"Many other vendors offer what is known as a 'spoof box,' which basically plugs into the telephone jack on the back of the machine and converts the signal to wireless," said James Phillips, Triton's Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

"In those cases, for a dialup ATM, the machine still goes through the same slow steps that it would normally go through for a dialup transaction," he said. "You still have that 'handshake' delay that occurs."

Triton's solution, however, is designed to work with its ATM software and ATM monitoring solution, Triton Connect, and is a completely wireless transaction from start to finish. The result is that the transaction speeds are faster than those accomplished with a grey market spoof box, and the higher data throughput speed allows for easier ad screen downloads, reporting and journal uploads via Triton Connect. And the cost savings can be significant compared to dial-up... . Read More

As ATMGurus has flourished, expanding into ATM Trade-In and ATM Refurbishment programs, and the support of Triton’s VersaSafe Division, they’ve simply outgrown their current 30,000 square foot facility. It has been necessary for some time to utilize temporary storage space for parts, and board repair overflow already necessitated transition to the Long Beach, MS office earlier this year. Additionally, the space required to refurbish the number ATMs processed through the Fair Trade program is considerable.    . . Read More
